Description:

You need to be an xkcd fan to understand it. Read the comic at http://xkcd.com/149/. Then run make me a sandwich, first with sudo, then without.

Obviously, you need sudo installed. You also need make installed. And bash.

Makefile was created by Tomi Belan (http://www.cli-apps.org/usermanager/search.php?username=tomi). Lots of thanks, Tomi.

 Makefile

 by andrewmin on: Sep 20 2008

Work is being done on a makefile version of this (you just type make me a sandwich) at http://www.reddit.com/r/xkcd/comments/72cpk/make_me_a_sandwich_unix_app/?sort=new. So yeah, if any makefile gurus wanna help, I could use it.

me:
(tab) @true
a:
(tab) @true
sandwich:
(tab) @[ -w /etc/shadow ] && echo "Okay." || echo "What? Make it yourself."

Lines starting with @ should be indented.
It's presumed that /etc/shadow is 600, as it should. This way is easier than trying to use $EUID.

I'm posting this comment here because I don't have a reddit account. BTW, '/bin/sh: [[: not found' is an old bash version.

Could you make an option for the destination folder where the sandwich should be put ?
